well, seems like Lewis doesn't like the infatrini milk, the hospital put him on it for extra calories but he hates it, has refused EVERY oral feed, but then in my opinion it's more important for him to get the extra calories and put on the weight rather than being able to suck from a bottle, will be trying him with more solids soon but he doesn't seem to like the spoon in his mouth, though he quite likes the taste of baby rice and rusks
his reflux is pretty bad too poor wee thing, so i now have a nice big stock up on washing powder to keep up with all the washing of things he's covered in 'brought back up milk'
nothing else to update on really, have an appointment on the 19th at the diaphragm clinic and an appointment with the surgical paediatrician on the same day though i have no idea what that one is for, but hopefully will be nothing to report from those appointments because hopefully everything will be ok.
Happy birthday

I hope Lewis starts eating up again. You should ask the Dr. if you can try a different supplement. We tried a total of three until we found one that Nayeli liked and it didn't give her alot of gas. I would supplement it with my breastmilk. She wouldn't breastfeed until she was 5months old. I never gave up. Now she won't stop and she is 15 months.
Is Lewis on any reflux meds? That will also help. Nayeli is on two. She would throw up 5 times a day until she was 4 months old. We also would hold her upright for over an hour.
Hope your appt goes well on the 19th.
Greetings from Cali
Would love to see pics of your little guy
Just a little something to think about...my CDH baby started REFUSING all feeds when they upped him from 24 to 26 cal an ounce formula at about 3 months old- the reason was to try to get him to gain weight. After eight weeks of continued and worse reflux and looking back at all the feeding notes I had been taking, I BEGGED them to let me try normal 20cal an ounce formula, just for a week. It worked..he started eating again. He was just so uncomfortable with the higher calorie stuff. He eventually went up to 22cal an ounce, but the 26 cal was too much. It is kind of a long shot, but it may be something to consider. He lost a few ounces in that week, but we figured out something that really worked for him and then with a slow combo on NG feeds, oral feeds, changing a few reflux meds and three months of hard work, he came off his NG and is now orally fed 100%. Good luck!
Sorry to hear that wee is not eating well. Is his milk warm enough for him? I saw a post on Jamie refused his milk b/c it was not warm enough :) Love all the photos of wee boy.
